Kaaka’s family boycott the Public hearing committee

The family of the late Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as Kaaka, has written to the President's committee set up to investigate the reason of the deaths of two persons during the turmoil in Ejura.

According to the family spokesperson, all signs are that the committee members have already reached their conclusion and are simply sitting on the panel.

“Our skepticism of the Committee's attempts to characterize live media coverage of the horrific events of Tuesday as being causative, contributive, or excessive of our security forces' criminal misconduct,” it continues.

“We are worried about the Committee's peculiar concentration on the media and its frequent use of harsh or biased terminology in describe media acts, including suggesting and enabling the idea to spread that the video recordings of the shooting by journalists were “doctored.”

“We are worried that these occurrences not only imply that the Committee has already reached a decision, but also that the Committee has already made a decision.

We, the family of Ibrahim ‘Kaaka' Mohammed, regret to inform you that we have decided not to participate in the continuing public inquisition into the “circumstances that led to the terrible occurrences of Tuesday, June 29th, 2021′′.
