Efia Odo's Withdrawal From Social Media Activism Premature; Where Lies The 'Yaa Asantewa' Spirit?

Nothing good comes cheap and easy. At least Efia Odo should have find her strength in Martin Luther King Jnr's famous quote; "If you can't run, walk; if you can't walk, crawl, but keep moving forward." Such is the anthem for an activist as she yearned to be.

Sadly, Efia Odo bowed out of social media activism at an early stage when she ought to have stood firm against persecutions. She earned for herself the title; "Yaa Asantewaa" to resonate with her passion and relentless in speaking up for a better Ghana.

It was simply premature for her to have retired from what she had started along with other activist. She was the force that inspired hope and symbolized leadership in their agenda. But she being silent over the past days ever since she was released from the police puts doubt about her 'Yaa Asantewaa' spirit.

Did she deserve the title at all? The heroine Yaa Asantewaa never backdown or retracted from the fight, and so should she.

Perhaps she needs to learn from the best. Kwame A-Plus, Bulldog, Lydia Forson and other celebrities like herself never got it easy speaking up. Yes, her mental health matters but that is the price you pay for championing an advocacy.

In her 'solace', Efia Odo must be psyched up to withstand anything that is thrown at her. Her defense and coping mechanism should as strong as a fortress so she never backs out again lets she would not be taken seriously.

Currently her official Facebook account cannot be traced. Only her Instagram account is active even that, no post had been shared ever since she announced her 'vacation' from social media.

It is not certain when she will re-engage these social media accounts, and whether or not she will abandon her advocacy entirely. Ghanaians will surely be expecting her next move.
