Man Vows To Drag 37 Hospital To Court For Their Negligence

Brother of a patient who died at the 37 hospital is suing the hospital over what he describes as ‘medical negligence’.

Emmanuel Asare Kumah said he's taking the action because the doctors’ negligence led to the death of his sick brother, Solomon Asare Kumah, and, to add salt to injury, medical bills were ‘blotted".

The brother of the demised is suing the 37 hospital with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), the Attorney General and Col. Dr Gordon A. Appiah, a neurosurgeon with the Ghana Armed Forces’ 37 hospital for the death of his brother.

Recounting the experience the family went through before the death of his brother in an interview with Johnnie Hughes on the New Day show on TV3, Thursday, September 9, Mr Kumah said he's suing the hospital and therefore the parties joined because he believes there are medical ethics that make sure that when a patient visits any medical facility within the country, there's the necessity for ordinary care in taking care of the patient with their rights respected.

He said if a patient goes to any of the health facilities and as Vindicated as they're , they're taken merit of, resulting in their death, then there's the necessity to require the system on in order that what happened there to patient will not happen to anyone else within the country. Mr Kumah said that's the most impetus for getting to court.

He narrated the ordeal his demised sibling went through at the hands of doctors before his death.
