tear gas has been fired at the demonstration by pressure group, Arise Ghana.There is reportedly tension on the premises, despite the fact that it is unknown what may have caused the action. 
The Kwame Nkrumah Interchange road is currently closed and empty of both people and vehicles. 
Some protesters may be seen throwing stones at the police officers in videos taken on the scene. Some vehicles, including a police van that was parked by the roadside, suffered significant damages as well.
Three demonstrators from the ongoing Arise Ghana Demonstration have been detained by the Ghana Police Service in the interim. 
The three were allegedly apprehended for their part in the mayhem that derailed the protest.
Attack on Police in the Current Arise Ghana Demonstration, the Police wrote in a tweet. What a shame; we were there to keep you safe and secure, but you chose to damage and harm us by throwing stones at us. This behavior must be denounced because it is unacceptable.
