Eugene Arhin’s Wife Fails To Prove Adultery Claim

A few minutes ago, we reported that the court has officially ended the marriage of Eugene Arhin, director of communications at the presidency, and his estranged wife Gloria Assan.

One of the allegations levelled against Eugene Arhin was adultery.

The estranged wife claimed Eugene was having an affair with Chantel Kudjawu also known as Getrude Gbajo.

Eugene Arhin however denied the allegation.

During the court hearing presided by Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey, Gloria Assan failed to provide vivid evidence to back her claim hence her accusation of false.

In her ruling, Justice Cecilia Don-Chebe Agbevey cited the case of Zabrama vrsSegbedzi [1991] 2GLR, 221, where the Court of Appeal per Kpegah JA (as he then was) held that: “a person who makes an averment or assertion, which is denied by his opponent has the burden to establish that his averment or assertion is true. And, he does not discharge this burden unless he leads admissible and credible evidence from which the fact or facts he asserts can properly and safely be inferred. The nature of each averment or assertion determines the degree and nature of that burden.”
