25 MMDCEs to lose their jobs in Ashanti Region

Some twenty-five Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMCEs) in the Ashanti Region are to lose their jobs as leaders of their various Assemblies.

Credible information picked -up by this portal has it that the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is feverishly preparing the list of MMDAs for the second term of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to push his vision for the nation.

The report says emphatically that as many as twenty -two MMDCEs from the region will not appear on the list of appointees being prepared by Dan Kweku Botwe, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development for the second term of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP).

Even though the source failed to mention the names of the affected MMDCEs but this portal can report that the region has forty-three MMDCEs on the records of the Regional Coordinating Council(RCC) and on the records of the regional party leadership.

And these MMDCEs are Kumasi Metropolitan, Ahafo Ano North Municipal, Asante Akim Central Municipal, Asante Akim South Municipal, Asokore Mampong Municipal ,Asokwa Municipal, Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal, Bekwai Municipal, jisu Municipal, Ejura Sekyredumasi Municipal, Juaben Municipal, Kwabre East Municipal, Kwadaso Municipal,

Mampong Municipal, Obuasi Municipal, Offinso Municipal, Oforikrom Municipal, Old Tafo Municipal, Suame Municipal and Adansi Asokwa District.

Others are the Adansi North District, Adansi South District, Afigya Kwabre North District, Afigya Kwabre South District, Ahafo Ano South-East District,

Ahafo Ano South West District, Akrofuom District, Amansie Central District Amansie South District, Amansie West District, Asante Akim North District,

North District, Bosome Freho District, Bosomtwe District, Obuasi East District, Offinso North District, Sekyere Afram Plains District, Sekyere Central District,

Sekyere East District, Sekyere Kumawu District and Sekyere South District Assemblies

The report says many of the people who are to lose their jobs performed abysmally in office and played a role in the acrimony that erupted between some sitting Members of Parliament(MPs) on the ticket of the party and the MMDCEs in the region.

The decision this portal has been taken and in the next few weeks, the announcement will be made to these MMDCEs in spite of their intense lobbying using some prominent personalities in the region.

The reports say some of them have resorted to using their pastors and their home town chiefs to lobby on their behave.
