The court has declared as a nullity the High Court order, restraining the organizers of the "Fix the country campaign" from implementing their decision to organize a demonstration as part of their socio-political advocacy.
In court, the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame argued that the supposed injunction by law, has expired after 10 days, therefore, the Supreme Court could not quash it because it was no longer valid.
However, the Apex Court presided over by Justice Yaw Appau went ahead and nullified the order, insisting it was an error in-law.
The organizers of the fix the country movement were represented by two vibrant young lawyers. They were Justice Sai, Kenneth Ghartey and Noa Tettey.
Already, social media has been reacting to the ruling by the court, with some describing it as a win for democracy and citizens participation in government.
A number of people are also expressing their excitement over the ruling as they promise to participate in the intended demonstration.
However, it is not yet clear whether the organizers will still want to go ahead with the protest in the face of the renewed discussions regarding violation of covid-19 protocols during the funeral of Sir John.
