Private legal practitioner, Mr. Maurice Ampaw has opined that several Ghanaian women are being killed for rituals by romance fraudsters without any trace for police investigation and arrest. According to him, these fraudsters mostly men are foreigners who ply on the desperation and vulnerability of Ghanaians women for their personal wealth.
In his claim on these ritual killings in Ghana, lawyer Ampaw said a majority of these women who fall victim to these romance fraudsters are married women who for indulge in extramarital affairs. The lawyer added that the fraudsters often act sweet and kind so to win the trust of their victims before they initiate their evil plans.
Speaking on Wontumi TV's Mmra Ne Abrabo Mu Nsem show, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw indicated that there are several cases to be referenced in Ghana for this crime, adding that most of these victims even when they are awakened from the dangers that could befall them, had already lost valuables and other properties to these romance fraudsters.
He mentioned that there are three major classifications of these fraudsters based on the schemes they employ, adding that the deadliest is those involved in ritual money. According to him, these romance fraudsters tend to show some love by spending on the woman and making them trust every word they say.
He noted that women who fall victim to their rituals end up selling their souls to them through the freebies they take from these men. Lawyer Ampaw mentioned that the ritual murder of these women is a practice in a cult which originates from Nigerian and had taken dominance in Ghana.
He alleged that the list and greediness for money among some Ghanaian women had made them fallen victim to these cults.
‘Because they are fraudsters, they will invest in you. They will treat you well, and when they win your trust, they will kill you.
“Today a lot of spousal killings are being reported and it’s all because of this," he noted.
Another sect lawyer Ampaw mentioned are those who are just after the properties of women. He indicated that wealthy women popularly known as sugar mummies are the main targets of these romance fraudsters.
"There are some who will dupe these women and take their properties away," he described.
The final category per Lawyer Ampaw's observation is those who are exploited for political influence. He explained that victims in this category are used as call-girls who satisfy the sexual pleasures of these romance fraudsters in exchange for a promise to secure them some better jobs or position.
He thus advised Ghanaian women to be vigilant and stop these romance fraudsters should any come their way.
