A leading member of the ruling Government has questioned the security agency and the Government on why it deport criminals who are from other countries but jails those from Ghana.
According to Gabby Otchere, the Government should not be too quick to deport foreigners who break the laws of the land. He noted that before the Government will deport any foreigner who is a criminal, he or she must serve the punishment according to the law.
"We should not be quick to deport foreigners who break our laws. If a citizen would be imprisoned for a similar offence then first prosecute and imprison the convicted foreigner before deporting him after serving his sentence. They cannot be treated better than us". He made this known on his Twitter wall.
His comments comes after 19 Burkina Faso Nationals who were arrested on the Gwollu stretch about 807km from Accra are deported.
Three illegal miners from China were also arrested and deported few days ago. Meanwhile, illegal miners who are citizens of this country were arrested and have been jailed for 45 years.
From what you have read, do you think the citizens of our Nation are being treated fair? Why should a citizen face the law and leave the foreigners to do what they want and at the end, they are deported to go and enjoy life in their country.
