The heat is on; as the much awaited 'Arise Ghana Youth' street protest; which current in its day 2, is getting interesting and more serious.
The day one of the Arise Ghana Demonstration started from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle (Obra Sport), in Accra; on 28 June 2022.The demonstration, which was organized by the Arise Ghana Youth; was aimed at putting pressure on the Nana Addo-Bawumia government, to improve living condition of the citizens, to address the numerous challenges being faced in the country, and also to demand for accountability and better living conditions for all Ghanaians.
The day two of the protest, saw all the demonstrators converging at the El Wak Sports Stadium, before proceeding to the Jubilee House, the seat of government, and then presented their petition to the Ministry of Finance.
The Protest which started successfully and peacefully;, suddenly got hotter, tougher and finally changed directions.
In the latest twist of the Arise Ghana demonstration, a video of the second day shows the National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, leading a group of protesters, to pray to God.
Sammy Gyamfi; and the group were seen in the video; chanting and begging God, for the death of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The group was also heard singing a song, which states that, President Nana Addo is destroying the country, and that, God must end his life to save the nation.
The Song goes; "He is destroying the country, he is destroying the country, he is destroying the country, kill Nana Addo for us. Kill Nana Addo for us, O God, kill Nana Addo for us. He is destroying the country, he is destroying the country, he is destroying the country, kill Nana Addo for us".
Meanwhile, the police Service has arrested about 29 protestors at the scene, and are currently in custody, while the police hinted that they "would go after the organisers of the demonstration, to make them answer for the injuries to their officers and damage to their vehicles".
