Parade protest

They Can't Hold Their Planned Street Protests.

There are pockets of people who do not see eye to eye with the police for reminding the FixtheCountry demonstrators that due to Covid-19 restrictions, they cannot hold their planned street protests.

They say we are in a democracy and same ought to be seen being practiced. Denying these demonstrators their right is an affront to the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, the state.

These people have forgotten so soon what happened when some youth organized an event at the Dome.

Christ Embassy has come under severe criticisms for breaching the restrictions imposed on such gatherings.

To the extent that the police department has taken that matter up should tell us that these protocols and laws are not being let down.

If just four days ago this is what happened with that church program, what makes people think that the demonstrators would be treated preferentially? That’s the law. When the restrictions are lessened, such gatherings can take place.

A third wave of COVID-19 is knocking on our doors. We can’t risk letting our guards down. There is nothing more Democratic and lawful than keeping the citizens including the demonstrators safe under these circumstances.
