Theft robbery

Check out the two armed robbers who have been sentenced to 10 and 20 years in jail.

Two thieves seized by the police in Abesewa, a suburb of Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region, were sentenced to 20 and 10 years in hard labor, respectively.

Sumaila Nketia alias Last Two and Kwabena Nyameke alias Kalilu were apprehended as a result of a police intelligence-driven investigation and operation. These inmates were wanted by authorities for repeated robberies in the Dunkwa-on-offin municipality and its vicinity.

Victims of five separate robberies came forward to identify themselves, and some of the victim's stolen property was recovered.

Several robbery cases are currently pending against them in the courts. On August 3, 2022, one of these cases was decided, resulting in their conviction and subsequent sentencing.

"We thank the Central Regional Police Commander and his team for their investigation, arrest, and successful prosecution of this case," the Police stated in a statement released on Friday, August 5.

"Per our new standard operating procedure, the faces of these individuals have been shown because they are now convicts and no longer suspects," the statement continued. "We would like to assure the public that the Police will continue to fight crime and bring criminals to justice."
