Professor Kwesi Yankah asserted that Nana Kwame Ampadu was a sage, storyteller and cultural activist who championed traditional values and norms through music.
According to him, he was so startling to admit why an intellectual like Nana Kwame Ampadu didn’t graduate from a public university, despite his intellectual and philosophical understanding of traditional landscape of Africa.
Professor Kwesi Yankah further revealed that Nana Kwame Ampadu became an “Evangelist” and healed people who were sick.
He wrote that,
“Later when Ampadu turned evangelist, I got a taste of it while I was with him at his residence at Abeka La Paz. A young girl popped in on her way to the hospital complaining of one symptom or the other. Ampadu took a glass, filled it with water and prayed over it. He thereafter offered it to the lady, who drank it and walked away, healed.”
However, Professor Kwesi Yankah urged Ghanaian youth to emulate the exemplary lifestyle of Nana Kwame Ampadu. This is because Ghana needs intellectuals like Nana Kwame Ampadu in order to impact the country positively.
