Black Star Square will play host to Ghana's star-studded New Year's Eve Countdown fireworks display.

Europe, America, Australia, Asia, the United Arab Emirates, and now Africa.

The Black Star Gate and Arch at Black Star Square will serve as the backdrop for the magnificent sky-lighting display.

Akua Kufuor, the founder of Countdown Africa and AKvance, stated: "This is about bringing Africa on the global stage of festivities. What better place to introduce ourselves to the world than from its center?

20,000 people are expected to attend, including both national and local celebrities, and there will be a surprise performance that evening.

Ghana will make history by becoming the illustrious list and beginning its first New Year's celebrations with a lavish show broadcast around the globe.

This will be the first time an African nation will be among those formally greeting the dawn of a New Year, and it will be hosted by one of its biggest performers, Michael Blackson.

KLM Country Manager Mees Van Ojik said “We are thrilled to be the first Official Travel Partners to Countdown Africa and look forward to bringing everyone from everywhere to this historic event.”

This festival also promotes one of the main goals of the nation, which is to increase tourism and create more chances for business and investment.
