[WATCH VIDEO]: How Thousands Of People Stormed This Year's "Gomoa Fetteh's Atopa" Festival.

A festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a community and centering on some characteristic aspect of that community and its religion or cultures. Festivals are occasions we celebrate in remembrance of our past ancestral or cultural history. This period is normally associated with drumming, dancing and other necessary rituals. There also mandatory bans on some activities if only necessary.

In this article, I bring to you a video circulating online where it is said to be a festival celebrated by the people of "Gomoa Fetteh". It is named to be "Atopa" festival. During this festival, women of all ages who are strong come out and dance in the midst of men where the men also smooch their backside which in local dialect is known as "Atopa". The dance actually in parlance is known as "Akosualontoba". This is held to mark the climax of the whole festival.
