If someone tells you church is not important, then tell the person to attend the Church of Pentecost and contest for a pageant or an award. Your victory will be easily fueled by the members of the church. This particular phenomenon has manifested itself on two occasions and this is at the national level. Perhaps, there are many that haven’t come to the attention of the public.
Yesterday was the grand finale of Ghana’s Most Beautiful. Out of 16 gorgeous ladies who started the program, 10 were evicted from the competition through votes and judges’ decisions. The remaining 6 were: Sarfoa, Akosua, Wedega, Mfodwo, Manu and Setor. These pretty contestants have held their regions in high esteem and told good stories to the best of their knowledge. Sarfoa, Ashanti regional representative was finally crowned victorious and Queen of Ghana’s Most Beautiful. She is a church member of Pentecost and she didn’t hide that from the onset of the pageant. This made her church members vote in huge numbers because they love their own.
If you’ll recall, Diana Hamilton also won Vodafone Ghana Music Award Artist of the Year thanks to the torrential votes of the Church of Pentecost. On that very night, many Ghanaians thought KiDi deserved the crown considering his Extended Play (EP) that was a global hit. Indeed, Diana Hamilton also did impressive work but she didn’t take Ghana on a world tour like how KiDi’s tracks did. But thanks to the church of Pentecost, she received enormous votes and secured herself the Artist of the Year (first time for a gospel musician).
These two individuals have proven that the church of Pentecost have some draconian love for their members especially when they need their help to secure victory.
