The key to manifesting your dreams: Vision boards

One of the main reasons why people forget about their goals is because they don’t have a clear vision of what accomplishing them would look like.

People have a limitless number of goals that they set for themselves, but it doesn't take long for them to be forgotten. According to Forbes, only 25% of individuals stick to their resolutions after 30 days, and just 8% of people complete them by the end of the year. It's for this reason that vision boards are useful.

Vision boards have helped many entrepreneurs establish their businesses and celebrities such as Steve Harvey, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen Degeneres, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Beyonce.

A vision board is a powerful tool that helps you achieve your goals and makes your dreams come true.

But what exactly is a vision board?

According to Wikipedia, “a vision board is a collage of images, pictures, and affirmations of one’s dreams and desires, designed to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation.”

How does it work?

The vision board represents feelings, experiences, dreams, and emotions that you want to attract. As a result, keeping a constant reminder of the wonderful things you want to attain and working hard to get them will help you achieve them.

How do you create a vision board?

First, ask yourself, what are your goals and visions? Then make a list of all of them. Make sure they are as detailed and specific as possible. For example, if you want a car don’t just write a car. Write its make, model, model year, body style and colour. When you are being specific you get a clear picture of what you want EXACTLY.

Next, gather images that represent what you've written. Images might be found on your phone, in magazines, or on the internet. You might include images of your family, friends, and interests, this will help your brain to associate the things you already have with the things you want to generate a good feeling.

After you have gotten all the pictures, it’s time to organize them.

Get large cardboard and pin the pictures to it. If they are too many or big to fit,

fix them in collages. Each collage will contain pictures of the same category.

However, if you feel that you need a little help with design many apps will help you create a virtual board such as My Vision Board— Visualize your dreams or My Vision Board—Manifest Dreams by Visualization. You can also make use of online collage makers.

Finally, you can use motivating and inspirational quotes and statements to convey what you want and position them next to the appropriate images.

Now that your vision board is made, how do you use it?

a) Hang the board on a visible spot where you can see it every day. This can be a wall, on a fridge or mirror.

b) You can also save it in picture forms and use it as a home screen or background wallpaper on your phones, tablets and computers.

Look at it throughout the day and think about the things you want for a few minutes.

I recommend looking at it first thing in the morning to give you drive and keep you focused, and then again right before bedtime to implant it in your conscious and subconscious minds. This way, you'll be able to see and remember your objectives.

Final thoughts.

You must take actions to create the reality you want to live. Therefore, having a constant reminder of the good things you want to achieve and working hard for them will ultimately make them a reality.
