And at Asuofua Asaman, a town along the Kumasi-Barrekese road in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of Ashanti Region this is what has exactly happened there as a young man who poses to be a powerful magician is reportedly has succeeded to dupe residents of their monies running into several millions of cedis.
The quack magician named as King Azoa it was alleged, managed to swindle his victims after using small stones to turn them into sweets as well as turning leaves into both local and foreign currencies he dished them out for free disbursement.
Information gathered had it that King Azoa arrived at the town from Bawku in the Northern part of the country under the mission to help people to get rid of their predicaments like spiritual, financial and others.
At the town on September 19,2021, King Azoa was said to have met a friend, one Kwame Grumah a resident who has stayed at Asuofua Asaman for more than thirty years and to find things easy, Grumah offered him (Azoa) accommodation to enable him operates comfortably.
As magician, King Azoa announced his presence and what he has in store for people who need spiritual and financial relief, adding that to show how powerful he was allegedly used his first three days to perform miracles to attract public attention.
The correspondent gathered that because the residents know Kwame Grumah as a permanent resident in the town, some of the people without any suspicion, made consultations to have their problems solved through King Azoa's direction, but the supposed powerful magician was having some hidden agenda to dupe the people.
The portal learnt that after allegedly collecting several monies from the residents with promises to use it to buy materials meant for concortions to ensure that their problems are solved, the victims woke up one morning to be informed that King Azoa had packed off without saying goodbye even to his friend Kwame Grumah who offered him accommodation to operate.
At press time no police report has so far been made, but confirming the story Kwame Grumah vowed not entertain strangers next time.
He also said no one has threatened.police action against him since though he accepted Azoa into his house, he dont know the kind of transactions that transpired between them.
