Gospel musician Diana Asamoah has been summoned by the Ga Traditional Council after she allegedly made derogatory comments about the Homowo festival.
The musician in a viral video is heard saying that by the strength of God, the Homowo festival will no longer be celebrated in Accra, which is the home region of the Ga-Adangbe ethnic group.
Shortly after making the disparaging remarks against the Ga festival, she rendered an unqualified apology.
According to her, it was not her intention to insult the Ga culture and asked for forgiveness of the Ga people.
The Ga Traditional Council says Miss Asamoah’s comments were not only derogatory but had the tendency to cause trouble in Accra.

She has been summoned to appear before the Council at the Ga Mantse Palace at 9:00 am on Monday, May 10, 2021.
She is also to show cause why she should not be reprimanded for her comments, per the letter of summons.
Homowo is a traditional festival celebrated by the Ga people of Accra to hoot at hunger. It is also to remember a famine their ancestors faced in the past.
