Ukraine wants UN to take several important steps in response to Russian Armed aggressive

Ukraine, as one of the founders of this international organization, now expects the UN to take several important steps in response to Russian armed aggression and Russia's threats of aggression with the use of nuclear weapons.

We demand compliance with paragraph 4 of the Budapest Memorandum - we seek immediate action by the UN Security Council to assist Ukraine as a state party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons that does not possess such weapons.

In today's world, as it turned out, promises of security guarantees, unfortunately, have not become guarantees. And now, on the 7th anniversary of the creation of the UN, there is an urgent need to reform this international institution, and the mechanisms of the UN to guarantee security.

It is imperative to reform the UN, in particular, to deprive Russia of its right of veto.

The nuclear status of the Russian Federation and its current place in the UN Security Council should not serve as a license for any injustice towards other states. The United Nations should become an effective tool for punishing the aggressor.
