Both Ghanaian civilians and the military back home should be proud and happy for their brothers and sisters who went on a peace mission to South Sudan. The Ghana Independent Infantry Company 3 (GHANCOY 3) have been awarded with medals for their outstanding services.
South Sudan has not been at peace for a while but currently it seems that things are better than it used to be. And this peace and harmony the people in South Sudan are enjoying can be credited to the people who helped to calm down things in the country and the GHANCOY 3 can be said to be part.
The Ghanaian contingent serving with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Aweil Northern Bahr El Ghazal state has received medals for their services and achieving peace in South Sudan.
According to Radio Miraya that reported the news, the medal parade was officiated by the UNMISS Sector West Commander Brigadier General Measho Hagos and he commended the GHANCOY 3 for their role I helping South Sudan in achieving durable peace. The ceremony went on yesterday which was the 21st of September 2021 in South Sudan.
