We would recall that on 1st July, 2021, an ugly incident occurred between the military in Wa and the public.
A group of the soldiers from the 10th Mechanised Battalion Barracks in Wa brutalized some unarmed civilians over alleged theft of a mobile phone belonging to one of them.
This no doubt, disturbed the good symbiotic relationship between us and them. Several steps have since been taken, involving His Majesty the Wa Naa, the Hon. Regional Minister and government and the Military towards restoring the cordial relationship.
It is in this same spirit that, at the instance of the Overlord, Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, these fun games - soccer and tug-of-war are being played. The competing teams are the Army 11, Media 11, Magazine 11, and Butchers 11. His Majesty believes that the desired outcome of peaceful coexistence would be realised.
