GOMOA Chiefs Furiously Call For Immediate Demolish of Liberia Camp

Chiefs of Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region's Gomoa East District have ordered the Budumburam Liberia Camp to be demolished immediately.

According to them, the place, which previously served as a shelter for refugees, has now been taken over by criminals who are terrorizing locals.

They said that the camp has outlived its usefulness, prompting calls for its demolition to make room for other projects.

In an interview with Adom News, the chief linguist for Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Akwasi Quansah, made the call on behalf of the chiefs.

“The camp has become a place for prostitutes, smokers, thieves, and other people involved in other social vices, and this isn't the first time we've made the call.

“I have asked several commanders who have been to the area to demolish the camp, but to no avail, and because we have no power over it, we can't demolish it,” he said. “However, if they won't do it, they can give us the green light,” he added.

He clarified that the area would be redeveloped into markets, schools, and other social services for the residents' benefit.

The chief, Nana Abor Atta II, who also joined the call, bemoaned the high rate of illegal activity, saying it reflects poorly on the group
