Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh has been killed by Israeli forces.

Veteran Al Jazeera writer Shireen Abu Akleh has been shot and killed by Israeli powers in the involved West Bank.

The 51-year-old was covering an Israeli armed force strike on the Jenin refugee camp when she was shot in the face by a solitary slug, in spite of wearing a press vest.

One more Palestinian columnist, Ali al-Samoudi, was injured toward the back however is in stable condition.

Al Jazeera, in a statement, said Abu Akleh was “assassinated in cold blood” and called on the international community to hold Israeli forces responsible.

US Department of State spokesman Ned Price has condemned the killing of Abu Akleh and called for an ‘immediate and thorough’ investigation.

In a statement on Twitter, he also added that “those responsible must be held accountable”.
