Ghanaians Reacts To Bawumia’s Debate On War And Protection Of Civilians

The United Nations Security Council held an opened debate at New York.

The debate was on war in cities and protection of civilians in urban settings.

The vice president of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia participated in the debate on behalf of the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

During the debate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized on the nature of current wars in cities and fixing of soldiers within interconnected resources and infrastructure of urban area.

About the nature of current wars in cities and fixing of soldiers within interconnected resources and infrastructure of urban area, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said, it is one of the topmost challenges in terms of the protection of civilian populations.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia also said, The humanitarian consequences of increasing wars in cities are very serious so he suggested that, the world must be decisive in preventing domestic inequalities that lead to urban migration and the creation of fertile grounds for war.
