"Ghana Is Their Next Target" Security Agencies Warns Ghanaians

To not raise fear in the hearts of innocent people is what we all hope for, but just can't ignore. Popularly, we all know how extremist groups and terrorists have tarnished the image of our biggest rivals, Nigeria, and recently, all of the countries that share borders with us are also under attack.

Due to this, the security agencies in the country have started alerting the general public about these security threats.

The security sector minister, Albert Kan Dappah, has told the general public about what he thinks about these rising fears.

"The Ministry of National Security will like to draw the attention of the general public to the growing threat of terrorism in our sub-region and urge everyone to be vigilant and extra careful about their personal and community security,"

"Our immediate neighbours, Burkina Faso, La Cote d’Ivoire and Togo, have all experienced such attacks and we have to recognise that our country remains a target as the security services work to keep us all safe."

"Nothing beats the vigilance of each of us individuals, taking personal responsibility and looking out for each other."

"This appeal is being made because there is good reason to believe that the terrorists operating within the region have Ghana as a target and there is a need to increase security measures and engage the public to be more careful," he continued saying.

"We want to reassure the public that the security agencies and all those charged with maintaining the security of the state are working hard to ensure the safety of our country and its people, and we count on your continuing support in this endeavour,"

As I said earlier, no one wants to put fear in everyone's heart, but they are just alerting the general public about these attacks because, according to these security agencies, they are unpredictable, so we should be really vigilant and report suspicious people in our community to the police to avoid any destruction.

As always, "we see differently".
