Mass arrests of military personnel have begun in Moscow — the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
"A complex of "measures" directed against the military began in the Russian capital. The traffic in the centre is blocked," the message reads.
As the Main Directorate of Intelligence noted, the elite Russian guard units had entered the city.
Numerous arrests, detentions and blocking of the military are reported.
Also, The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation appointed Sergey Surovikin as the new commander of its forces in Ukraine - Kremlin media reports.
Surovikin has been the Commander-in-Chief of the Air and Space Forces since October 31, 2017. He took part in the armed conflict in Tajikistan, the Second Chechen War and the military operation in Syria.
