Ghanaian Army: This Is What The Stars On A Military Uniform Say About Them.

The Ghanaian military is not new to the ordinary Ghanaian. Historically, this country has been ruled by successive military governments after the collapse of the Nkrumah administration. The likes of Afrifa, Acheampong, Joseph Ankrah, Emmanuel A. Kotuka up to J.J Rawlings all emerged the military fraternity.

However, there are some basic things about the military that are still not known by the average Ghanaian. Just like, any other profession, the Ghana Armed forces has ranks for their officials or officers which are characterized or distinguished by the number of stars on the persons uniform. As others have up to five stars, some do not have a single star on their uniform as a result their ranking structure.

One thing to note is that, the whole whole army is divided into two main sub-groups; the Officers and the Enlisted Officers.
