The military rampage in the Upper West region has left one of the victims, Gafaru Mahama paralysed after beating and he has shared his story with the Pro of the Upper West regional coordinating council who was also a victim
Cletus Awuni took to his Facebook page to say that the condition of Gafaru Mahama was the reason why he said on TV3 that he was fine
"Seeing the condition of this gentleman by name Gafaru Mahama who suffered some of the military brutality , why shouldn't I say I was fine even though I was injured?" He sadly noted.
At least he said he has legs to walk but Gafaru has a broken leg and went through a surgery this morning at the Regional Hospital. Gafaru was at his shop doing his normal business with his brother when the soldiers went into the shop to brutalize them.
He was brought to the hospital in a terrible state at the time Cletus Awuni was also sent there for medical attention.
"I thank everybody for your concerns on my condition by trying to reach out to me by either phone call or message. God bless you all but let's remember Gafaru Mahama in prayers so that he could be able to walk normal again after the surgery. Justice will be served and must be served. The lawlessness and the brutalities must end and should never happen anywhere in Ghana again. The Regional Minister together with the Chief of Army Staff were at the hospital to visit him" he concluded.
