On Saturday, 20th November 2021, it was reported that Captain Kojo Tsikata was no more and had passed away.
While his sudden demise was announced, the family didn't give out details of his cause of death, a decision which is entirely commendable, looking at the circumstances.
Captain Kojo Tsikata was a Ghanaian military officer, rising to the ranks of a captain, and later a politician. He served as far back under the Nkrumah government, where he was sent on a mission to the Congo with Major General Ankrah as part of a Ghanaian military contingent with orders from Kwame Nkrumah to protect the Pan-Africanist and anti-neocolonialist, Patrice Lumumba, who was the Prime Minister at the time.
Fast forward under the Rawlings's era, Captain Kojo Tsikata served as the Head of National Security and Foreign Affairs of the PNDC. He is also credited for being a founding member of the NDC, a political party in Ghana.
For his role he played under Rawlings's period, he might have been quite a close companion to the former President, and this picture proves so.
The two were having a laugh as they watched on to what was happening. You could tell, somehow, that they were like brothers having a good time.
Unfortunately, the two "paddies" are no more. Rawlings passed away in 2020, while Kojo Tsikata, 20th November, 2021.
