The Executive Director of the National School Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), Dr. Hilda has said pre- tertiary private schools in the country that do not employ NTC licence teachers from next month will be sanctioned.
According to the Director, letters has been dispatched to private schools and its not the time for them to enforce this exercises but her outfit has told private schools that all yet to be recruited teachers should be licensed before they are employed.
"By our standards, to have licensed teachers is a requirement and we were waiting on NTC to tell us when we can enforce that. By the letter they gave us to dispatch to all private schools, which we have, they are telling us that the time to enforce is now," the NaSIA Executive Director told B&FT.
She further added that, the NaSIA will start visiting schools to check if these teachers NTC licenced teachers or not. " This means that when the Inspectorate Authority come to your school and we get your teacher list, we have to see that they are NTC licenced teachers. That is something we are going to keenly look at".
