Under the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, there are two major ministries which are entitled to disseminate government policies and projects to the public. These are the Ministry of Information which is headed by Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Ministry of Communication, which is headed by Honourable Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
In fact, some government experts have questioned the set up of these conflicting ministries since most of their duties contend each other.
Today, March 18, 2021, the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram constituency, Samuel Nartey George popularly known as Sam Dzata George, has raised pertinent issue regarding some incognito communicators whose allowances are captured under the 2021 national budget.
According to Sam Dzata George, these disguise communicators squandered GH6 million in 2020 and have requested for GH4 million in 2021.
However, the Information Minister have disclosed that he doesn’t know these “ghost communicators”.
“Can anyone close to the Office of the President tell them to explain to us who these Government Communicators are?
They 'chopped' GHS 6,000,000 in 2020 for their work. This year they are going to 'swallow' another GHS 4,000,000. Who are these individuals?
The Information Minister says he doesn't know who they are. Who knows? We deserve to know!”, he said.
He made this revelation on his Facebook page today.
