Frank Assinki, age 19 who was one of the brightest stars to feature for the Ghana U20 team that won the the U20 Afcon in Mauritania earlier In February has stated his mentor in the game in recent times.

The centre back performed superbly and was tagged as one of the best defenders in the campaign. He currently plays for KFUM Rosklide on loan from Danish side HB KOGE.

The youngster has had a stint with Ghana Premier League club Inter Allies before joining HB KOGE. He’s very strong, good in the air and calm on the ball. He made 12 appearances in 14 games for the side before the league was called off as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemics. Many believed the young defender is poised for a Black Stars call up.

Assinki has revealed that he looked up to Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo as his mentor in the game and has also added that he has learn a lot of things from the ever-reliable defender. These were the words from the defender “ I always look up to Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo. He is my icon, I have not met him or spoken to him but I keep watching him to learn a lot of things”.
