Four in critical condition, one person dead after two vehicles collided with each other on the Wenchi-Techiman highway.
The Accident involved an Opel Astra taxi with registration number AS 224-12 and a Benz sprinter with registration number AS 5354-20.
The Wenchi District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kofi Oduro Amponsah said they noticed that the Benz Sprinter, which was said to be travelling from Kumasi to Wa made a wrongful overtaking upon reaching the Accident scene.
“The driver of the Benz Sprinter, heading towards Wa, attempted to overtake, leading to head-on collision with the Opel Astra which was heading towards Techiman from Wenchi,” he said.
According to him, the four passengers who sustained injuries were taken to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital and are undergoing treatment. The body of the deceased, has been taken to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
A brother of the deceased, Kwame Waanaa said his late brother has left behind his pregnant wife and two children.
