The Coronavirus pandemic is still having devastating impact on every facet of Ghana's economy. The Nana Akuffo Addo-led government has spent millions of Ghana cedis to ensure that some essential items like tissues products, nose masks and other personnel protective equipments (P P Es) available for use in our basic schools.
Ghana Education Service has asked Headteachers of public Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High Schools across the country to draw Action Plans to combat Coronavirus in their respective schools. The Action Plans would enable teachers to use multiple and detailed approaches to confront the virus.
Apart from the Action Plans, Heads of Public Basic schools are aslo required to present minutes of meetings held in relation to the deadly virus. They ( Heads of Public Schools) have up Friday, 8th October, 2021, to submit their Action Plans.
One School Improvement and Support Officer ( SISO) in the Ashanti Region wrote:
"You are to submit the school first meeting list, action plan and report as we discussed at the workshop before or on Friday 8th October 2021".
It will interest most people to note that, the training provided by Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ghana Education to fight Coronavirus in our basic schools is woefully inadequate.
