According to Population Division of United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs
as of 2021, word population or better still global population, males are slightly more than females. Per their estimate, there are now 101.7 males for every 100 females worldwide. Whiles males outnumber females in the world's population according to the estimates of the United Nation, the number of counties where females are more than males are more than the other way round. Out of 201 countries for which the United Nation has population data, 125 countries have more females than males, but the percentages vary from 50.1% to 54.2%.
In this particular article, we are going to look at Ghana and other African countries where women or females outnumber males.
Per the recent or 2021 National population census in Ghana, The Ghana Statistical Service has revealed that, women or females are more than men or males currently. According to GSS, women in the country outnumber men by 427,690. Women in Ghana currently in are 15,610,149 Whereas males or men population in Ghana currently stand at
15,182,459. The country's sex ratio is 97 males for every 100 females at moment. Overall, women make up 50.7% of the population and males 49.3%.7%
2. Kingdom of Eswatini
Another Africa country where females outnumber males is Kingdom of Eswatini which is formerly known as Swaziland. Per World Population Review, The country's total population is 1,148,130 and 50.98% of which is female. The country's female to male ratio stand at 106.375 per 100 men
Lesotho is another African country with more females than males. The country is ranked 31st in the world and 2nd in Africa with a female to male ratio of 106.182 to 100 men. 50.8% of the country’s population are women where as 48.2% of the population are males.
Namibia is one of the countries in Africa with small population. Namibia population as of July 2019 stand at 2.6 million plus. Female to male ratio index is 105.776 women to 100 men.
Mozambique's population is dominated by women. Mozambique's population is around 30 million. Out of this, women constitute 51.44 percent as compared to 48.56 percent of males. Per statistics, the ratio of women to men is 105.051females to 100 men
Zimbabwe's total population is around 14.8 million plus, out of this, the number of women's population constitute 7,771,000 Where as men or male population stand at 7,092,000. In percentage wise, women constitute 52.28% of the total population of the country.
