The Chelsea boss has issued a challenge to the young Chelsea attacker, but is Thomas Tuchel gamble going to yield results.
The blues boss has challenge the young English winger to have a great impact on the game when brought on from the bench as he would when given the opportunity to start a game. But is he right to damand so much from the academy prospect.
Callum Hudson Odoi was introduced into the game early in the second half when Chelsea trailed 1-0 against Southampton during the weekend, only to be substituted again to make way for Hakim Ziyech late in the second half.
Chelsea were able to salvage a point from the game when Mason Mount converted from the penalty spot after being brought down by Danny Ings. But Thomas Tuchel's decision to replace Hudson Odoi within a brief period of time was the main talking point of the game that ended in a stalemate.
Tuchel further explained that the English winger was not at his usual best during his brief time on the pitch, which makes us doubt if the treatment he received was fair as the manager himself admitted it.
"I took a hard decision on him, yes, but it is the decision for today, for the game. There is no need to worry for him, I trust him a lot.
"He has had some very, very good games, both mentality wise and in terms of effort when he started, two not-so-good games when he came on from the bench. Let's improve together."
Let's hope for a positive response from the winger. Please follow me for more interesting contents.
