Savannah Region MDCE's Urged To Involve Stakeholders In Decision Making

Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Savannah Region have been advised to involve stakeholders in their activities, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana popularly known as professor Kalomonia, Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who gave the advice said that, it would offer such people the opportunity to put their knowledge and expertise at the disposal in the region.

Prof. Kalomonia gave the advice at Damongo during the swearing in of the recently confirmed five MDCEs in the region.

He appealed to the MDCEs to bury their differences with people and moved together in building a formidable party in their various areas.

He again urged the MDCEs to be transparent in their administration. Prof Kalomonia also made it clear that, the MDCES and party leadership to see consensus building as an important activity to ensure a successful tenure.

Prof Kalomonia therefore, pleaded with the 5 Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs ) who successfully went through the approval process, to show much commitment to work, so as to promote the development of their respective areas.

He called on them to work closely with the stakeholders and party faithfuls, failure of which could pose problems for them.

He asked the new MDCEs to be guided by the party’s principles so that they would not deviate from their roles.

According to him, it would not serve any useful purpose if the MDCES engaged in witch-hunting of perceived persons who were against their nomination, as well as confirmation.

Prof Kalomonia noted that, the MDCEs are servants who ought to demonstrate much commitment to the well-being of the people, through the implementation of viable social intervention projects.

He conclude by hoping that, the new MDCEs would live up to the expectations of the people who trusted and voted for them.

The Savannah Regional Minister, Mr Muazu Saeed Jibril who swore the five new MDCEs into office, administered the oaths of allegiance, secrecy and the official oath on behalf of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The five new MDCEs who were sworn into office by the Regional Minister includes; Salia Kamara- Central Gonja District, Losina Barikisu- Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, Adam Eliasu Bawa- North Gonja District, Mohammed Tindawu Musah –North- East Gonja District and Karim Musah Kusubari for West Gonja Municipal.

However, Madam Veronica Alele Heming and Mr Mohammed Tamimu could not meet the two- thirds threshold to be confirmed as DCE and MCE for the Bole District and East Gonja respectively.
