Asiedu Nketia Drops Call On Multimedia Journalist After He Asked Him About JM’s ‘Do Or Die’ Comments

John Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress joined Osei Bonsu via phone on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ this afternoon, Thursday, September 9, 2021. They discussed issues relating to agriculture in Ghana. John Mahama on his tour has hinted that Ghana might experience a food shortage. He added that his agricultural policies were taken over by the NPP government but they have failed to implement his policies and this will hit Ghana so hard

As the conversation went on, a question on John Mahama’s ‘’Do or Die” statement came up and according to Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the NPP want to distract Ghanaians from their problems and place their inadequacies at the feet of John Mahama. He added that people need to go back to school to understand what John Mahama meant by that.

According to OB the context used was problematic because it could incite violence on the day of elections. He tried to allude to a number of options that Do or Die could mean. Asiedu Nketia tried to resist talking about the issue but OB kept the discussion going on with related questions about Do or Die.

“I will not discuss this to waste my time. If you are a diligent journalist, you would have found the correct meaning. Why continue the debate if you know the meaning of it? those comparing is comparing apples to stones. Those doing that must go back to school”

OB took time to take Asiedu Nketia through a number of meanings of ‘Do or die’ and queried what the real intention of John Mahama was when he used the phrase. This infuriated Asiedu Nketia who had no choice but to drop the call. This caused laughter in the studios as the panelists couldn’t fathom what had just happened.

“Please, I thought we will talk about important issues. I am currently at the rally grounds. I am in the car engaged in this idiotic and repetitive arguments. Let’s end this or else those planting the controversies will think they have won” Asiedu Nketia said as the line dropped from his end.

The NDC scribe did not wait as OB tried to ask him a final question. He was apparently displeased that the discussion had come to center on a viral comment of John Mahama.
