WAFA emerges winners in a five goal thrilling encounter away to Berekum Chelsea in the league.
WAFA has done quite the unthinkable in the Ghana premier league away from home against Berekum Chelsea this afternoon. The game was the first of the Ghana premier league match day 22 round of matches.
WAFA secured a 3:2 win against Berekum Chelsea. WAFA took the early lead through Ampondah. Berekum Chelsea equalised few minutes later through Stephen Amankona and retook the lead. Asubonteng struck for the visitors to bring the game to a 2:2 standstill before the half time whistle.
About two minutes into the second half, Abdul Basit scored what was the decisive goal of the tie for the young WAFA side. Berekum Chelsea threatened but couldn't get the equaliser.
About eight minutes was added on at extra time but WAFA held on for the vital three points. WAFA are now on 6th position on the league table whereas Chelsea are in 12th on the table.
