Vodafone Ghana Partners Ghana Education Service to Solve a Persistent Problem

Education is defined in some circles as the process of assisting an individual to acquire knowledge and skills enable him or her live a meaningful life. This process requires a lot of resources to make the journey possible.

It is against this backdrop that Vodafone Ghana and the Ghana Education Service is collaborating to help the needy pupils and students all over the Ashanti Region.

It has been widely reported that, Heads of Public Schools (Kindergarten to Senior High School level) are requested to furnish the Ashanti Regional Education Directorate with number of deprived pupils and students in their schools.

Templates have been sent to all Heads across the Region for early completion. Heads have been entreated to provide accurate information as background and follow up checks will be done to ascertain if indeed the information provided is correct.

The Statement from the Education Directorate reads, "Vodafone Akoma Project through the Regional Director of Education is requesting for the information of very needy and deprived students (primary, junior, SHS levels) in our district.

Due to the urgency of the information, you are kindly entreated to liase with Heads and submit the few names and details you can gather. You are to submit by close of today. Please ensure that the students are genuinely deprived or poor. Background checks will be done. Put completed Template on the Training Officers Platform for compilation".

The form of help to be offered by Vodafone could take many forms, including but not limited to financial support and educational materials.
