Muntaka demands Akufo-Addo must apologize for flouting COVID-19 protocols

The Minority Chief Whip in Parliament, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to apologize to the nation for flouting his own COVID-19 protocols.

Muntaka made the call on the back of the widespread breach of COVID-19 protocols at the funeral of the late New Patriotic Party General Secretary, Sir John.

Sir John, until his death, was the Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission. He passed away in July 2020 after contracting COVID-19.

The funeral was organized last week with massive attendance by all those who matter in the executive, including President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia.

According to Muntaka, the breach of COVID-19 protocols at the funeral was unacceptable.

He, therefore, called on President Akufo-Addo, to apologize to Ghanaians.

“The President owes us an apology that as a Commander in Chief he was there when this thing happened, I mean nothing could be said rather than for him to apologize to the rest of the country,” he said.
