The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has been affectionately welcomed by the Management Members of the Finance Ministry. This event took place yesterday, 31st March, 2021. The road to his approval was a dicey one because many Ghanaians especially the National Democratic Congress (NDC) members thought that, the Minority caucus of the Appointment Committee will reject him due to his alleged corruption case with the Agyapa deal before the 2020 elections.
But here he is, the only Finance Minister to be appointed and approved on two consecutive terms in the history of Ghana's First Republic. Report indicate that, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has even thanked Parliament for the approval of Ken Ofori Atta. Looking at the pictures below, the Management of the Finance Ministry met him at the entrance of the Ministry block where he was captured caring his usual brown bag driving in locally manufactured car, Kantaka vehicle.
The elbow greetings from the Management at the entrance shows that, they have really missed him at work. As most Ghanaians can remember, he flown to the United States of America to receive treatment over his post-Covid complications. But the smiles on the faces of the Management members indicate that, they are really delighted to see their Finance Minister doing great after all the problems he has been through.
As a Christian and believer, the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta made the management stood up as they begin their next term in office with the Lord by prayer. Some Ghanaians are of the view that, his prayer lifestyle in his Finance Ministry is not real because he always end up not being truthful to Ghanaians as he should be. But in all these accusations and speculations about his trustworthiness, he is still doing a marvelous job.
