Felix Afena Gyan is undoubtedly one of Ghana's first-choice strikers but the same cannot be said at his club side. The player is expected to leave AS Roma who cannot guarantee him regular playing time next season. Salernitana seems to be interested in the striker and has reportedly started making moves on him by speaking to the player's agent and AS Roma.
AS Roma is willing to send him on a loan to any Serie A club that can guarantee him regular playing time before the World Cup. Salernitana is not the only Serie A team on his neck as Sassuolo is looking forward to courting him. Afena Gyan helped AS Roma to win the maiden edition of the Europa Conference League after he made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals. This feat seems less impressive but he was not given full playing time and was mostly used as a substitute.
Felix Afena Gyan played his first game for the Black Stars in the World Cup Qualifiers playoffs against Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. He also scored his first national team goal in Ghana's 3-0 victory over Madagascar in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.
