President Akufo-Addo Pledges 1 Million Cedis To Motivate Accra Hearts Of Oak

The President of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has pledged One Million Cedis to Accra Hearts of Oak. The amount will go a long way to boost the finances of the defending champions as they participate in CAF Confederation Cup.

As part of of activities to mark Accra Hearts of Oak’s One Hundred and Ten anniversary, a delegation paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo. It was at this meeting that His Excellency pledged One Million Cedis to the Phobians. 

“Samuel Boadu is currently one of the very best coaches and together with his captain and the rest of the players I want to encourage you to do more for Hearts and Ghana. I therefore pledge One Million Cedis to support your campaign in the CAF Competitions which I believe will serve as extra motivation to the team to win on Sunday and go on to qualify to the group stage.”

The kind gesture by the President of the Republic of Ghana will have a huge role to play in the team’s success story ahead of this weekend’s game against JS Saoura at the Accra Sports Stadium. Both playing body and technical department have a responsibility to deliver having been motivated by the President. 

President Nana Addo urged the fans to rally behind the team as they celebrate 110 years anniversary. Their unflinching support has the capability of keeping the team on winning streak and defend the good image of Ghana football. 

“As part of your 110 celebration, I urge all Phobians to stand firm and support the team to defend the good image of Ghana football and as well go on to successfully defend all the titles you won last season. You have a big role to play in lifting high the image of Ghana football. I am proud of your achievements as a club and I hope to see you bring more laurels to Ghana football will materialize.”

The call by the President is crucial for the capital-based club, having gone four matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League. Ahead of CAF Confederation Cup play-off, some fans are not convinced of the team putting up a vintage performance on Sunday. Having urge the fans, it is expected the fans will heed to the call of the President Akufo-Addo and support the team to victory in critical moments.

Vincent Sowah Odotei led Accra Hearts of Oak’s delegation to the Presidency. Other board members, players and coaches were part of the delegation.
