Footballers abound in all parts of the world, as football is the most widely spread game on the planet. Since the emergence of this game, footballers from all parts of the world have rose to the limelight. Asians, Africans, Australians, Europeans and Americans have all witnessed some of their people make waves in the football world. Almost every single country in the world is involved in football, playing local leagues, continental club tournaments, continental international tournaments, as well as worldwide international tournaments. But one unasked question is; Did their players just become this great?
The answer to this question is simply No. Most of the players that are well-known have passed through several years of struggle and training before getting to where they are. Some of these players, after these long of training were fortunate to get into the spotlight as teenagers. Notable among them are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Erling Haaland, Ansu Fati, Vinicius Junior, Neymar Jr etc. However, some other very highly rated players in this era didn't get it so easily. One of such players is Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski.
Robert Lewandowski is currently known as one of the greatest forwards in football. His goal scoring abilities are just exceptional. He's the only player to score 5 goals in just nine minutes. The Polish forward never fails to deliver, in club or country. At the moment, he's considered by many people as the befitting person to win this year's Ballon d'Or award.
However, Lewandowski didn't just get here. He got a bit of attention during his time Dortmund and became well known when he joined Bayern Munich. But before all these, he had a pretty humble football life, where he wasn't even considered a forward, he was a defender.
