Australian Olympian Responds After Being Slammed For Breastfeeding Her Child While Doing A Handstand

An Australian Olympian by name, Torah Bright, has responded after she was lambasted on social media for posting a "disturbing" nude breastfeeding photo as she perform a handstand.

The 34-year-old young woman displayed her toned physique in a picture she shared with her followers on one of her social media handles, thus, Instagram, on Sunday May 9.

On her Instagram page, she is seen wearing only panty while performing a handstand. Her 10-month-old son, Flow, in the picture appears to be kneeling to breastfeed as she holds the upside-down position.

The winter Olympian, who obtained a gold and silver medal in the snowboard halfpipe, caption the picture: "Being a mother has unleashed something within me. It is truly spiritual. It's primal. It is original. It is fierce. It is natural. I am a mother."

Her post was met with criticisms and praises.

One of her followers on social media wrote: "I just don't understand the need to seek attention and post pictures of all the things you do. I don't know the reason.

A follower wrote: "My good question is- why? Sure I understand it's natural and a very beautiful thing- but I don't send my first bowel movements of the day standing on only one leg. Same thing?

Bright responded to the cruel comments, after honestly admitting reading them "made her uncomfortable."

She posted on her Instagram story: "In my own world, mothers have to be each other's cheer leaders (it is difficult enough). Accept our quirkiness and also finding the happiness in every thing that is motherhood.

"People do it differently. It may not be wrong nor right. Motherhood is natural. I only now see myself as a wonder woman because I have associated myself with the sacred mothers club. Nothing but much respect to all mothers."

Bright reminded her fans that she was not "looking for praises," instead happily saying she "stroll this Earth to the beat of my own drum, with nutrition, search for love, and joy leading.. obviously.'

She did state a quote from Mary Poppins that indicated: "In every work that must be done, there is an elements of fun. You search the fun and snap, the job's a game."

The distinguished Olympic athlete shares her baby, Flow, with her husband, fellow snowboarder Angus Thomson.

She is currently Australia's most successful athlete in the winter Olympic history.
