Ghana is rich in natural resources such as cocoa, lumber, bauxite, manganese, gold, and a variety of others. In July 2007, oil was discovered in the country's western region, adding to the country's vast natural resources.
The discovery of large quantities of oil in Ghana established the country as a commercial oil and gas producer, with the jubilee field, the name given to the location where the discovery was made, holding 700 million barrels of oil and 800 billion cubic feet of gas. And since December 2010, Ghana has become a major oil and gas producer in the world. And now, a firm called Eni has made yet another massive oil discovery in Ghana
The company, which has been in Ghana since 2009, made the announcement this month that it had discovered oil with the potential to produce 700 million barrels of oil and 5,000 barrels per day. The discovery was made on the Eban exploration prospective in Cape Three Points Block 4 off the coast of Ghana, according to the company's press release. And they further stated that due to already existing infrastructure production will start very soon.
This is a great news for Ghana every Ghanaian.
