Women go through a lot of pain when they are in their labour time. Women in labour must be transported quickly to a nearby hospital for medical attention. If this is not done, there is a probability that either the mother or child or both can lose their lives. For pregnant women in Naguruma, they have to be carried in a chair by men to cross a river before they can receive medical attention in the next village.
Checking the images in this article, a pregnant woman is being carried in a chair by six guys. The guys have to carry her and move slowly in the river to the other side of the river. Even the distance from Naguruma to the nearby village is far so they continue the journey on a motorbike.
For this reason, the men have to carry a motorbike to the other side of the river so that it can be used to transport the pregnant woman. According to the guy who recorded the video, the government has built a hospital for the people of Naguruma but the hospital has not been commissioned for use. For this reason, they have to go through this stress anytime a pregnant woman is in labour.
The people in this village are therefore calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials to come and commission the hospital in their village so that pregnant women will no longer go through this stress. The guy who recorded this video pleaded with all Ghanaians to share this video so that it can get to people in authority so that something will be done about this situation.
