Many mothers wake up at night only to realize that the temperature of their kids have risen above what is expected. When that happens, most of them become confused and don't even know what to do. In this article, I am going to provide some tips which can help mothers in such cases.
The human temperature ranges in normal conditions between 36.2 and 37 degrees Celsius and decreases or increases in some people. The temperature is taken with a device known as the thermometer.
Temperature is taken through the anus especially for children, and from other places such as the tongue and under the armpit for the rest. Sometimes the temperature may rise due to natural factors such as the process of digesting food, in hot weather and after exerting a great sporting effort.
Pathological causes that cause high body temperature includes contagious fever, gastrointestinal diseases, head injuries blood tumors, thyroid activity, liver diseases, ectoderm, fractures, allergic diseases, severe diarrhea in children, heat stroke in children due to lack of fluids, especially in summer, ear, throat and urinary tract infections.
Means to reduce the temperature of the child.
When you record a high temperature in your child at night, going through these steps can help lower the temperature of the child as soon as possible. It is very necessary to take your child to a health facility closer to you the next morning even if these methods helps to lower their temperature.
1. When you realize a rise in temperature at night, kindly get an iced cold water with a little vinegar. Don't worry if there is no vinegar around. Massage the abdomen and extremities with a towel moistened with the ice water several times.
2. Put the child in a bathtub of lukewarm water, then add cold water to it as much as the child can bear.
3. In the event of not benefiting from these methods, it is necessary to use antipyretic drugs, including paracetamol, panadol or calpol, and suppositories can be used when no progress has been achieved by the previous means.
